Swindon Town women score 28 times in one game at the County Ground

Swindon Town Women netted no fewer than 28 times at The County Ground on Sunday, as they blitzed bottom side Selsey in Women’s National League South.

The Robins ladies produced a dominant display in a 28-0 victory, having led 13-0 at half-time.

Forward Annie Colston led the way for Town with a stunning seven goals on the afternoon. Selsey themselves put the ball in their own net four times.

There were hat-tricks for Meg Jarvis, Georgia Clifford and Taylor MacDonald.

Holly Beck-Esson and Georgia Vandries scored twice with further goals coming from Sky Hull, Gipsy Viveash and Hattie Jones.

The result put Swindon third in the division, with 35 points coming from 19 league games.

Assistant manager Jonathon House said: “I think every goal today was really well-worked. It looked like stuff we’ve been working on. They played as a team, they kept it simple.”

Next up for Swindon is a clash with Moneyfields on Sunday.
