The Swindon Wildcats launching #CupMadness campaign

The Swindon Wildcats are thrilled to be launching our #CupMadness campaign as we prepare for four massive cup games over two competitions.

After Aaron Nell and his troops have secured their places in the knockout rounds of both the NIHL National Cup and the Autumn Trophy, cup fever has well and truly hit Wiltshire and we couldn’t be more excited about it!

We’ll be taking on the Peterborough Phantoms on Thursday evening in a 19:45 F/O, where we look to qualify for our first cup final since 2005.

These games promise to be very close affairs but having defeated the Phantoms between Christmas and New Year we are full of confidence as we enter #CupMadness.

In-between the Autumn Trophy Semi-Finals, we will be taking on the London Raiders in the National Cup Quarter Finals. We hit the Better Link Centre ice on Saturday night in a 18:15 F/O, before travelling to London the day after to compete in the second leg.

In celebration of these games, we will be building up the week by re-living some classic goals from the 1991 Autumn Trophy win against the Milton Keynes Kings. So, keep an eye on social media to re-live goals from Ryan Stewart and saves from Ian Woodward to seal the Wildcats the trophy.

The class of 2017/2018 will do what they can to emulate the class of 1991, and player-coach Aaron Nell believes the fans will have a massive part to play.

“We can’t wait to get the knockout rounds of the cup underway, the team are ready for them and we are itching to get into the games with Peterborough and London. They’re going to be four very tough games but we’ve been successful in the cup so far so we just need to keep it rolling.

We know we can rely on the Barmy Army to bring the noise needed to be the extra man on the ice, the support at home and on the road has been superb this season and we know it will be for these four games too!”

Tickets are available to buy for both games now, book online at www.swindonwildcats.com, call our box office on 01793 886857 or pop into Wildcat Sports. We want to see the rink full! If you haven’t been for a few weeks these are the games to go to! Let’s fill the rink and enjoy the #CupMadness!
