Holloway hails Tshimanga after dramatic penalty double

Ian Holloway hailed the coolness of Kabongo Tshimanga after his two converted penalties earned Swindon Town a dramatic 2-1 victory over AFC Wimbledon.

Marcus Browne’s second-half goal looked to have given the Dons all three points at the Nigel Eady County Ground before the game turned on its head in the dying moments.

After Harry Smith was fouled in the box, Tshimanga hammered home from 12 yards to make it 1-1.

John-Joe O'Toole was then given a second booking handball and Tshimanga converted five minutes into stoppage time to send the home fans wild.

Speaking about Tshimanga, manager Holloway said: "I thought he was excellent, without Harry up there, he showed how strong he was.

"He was cool as a cucumber and it was absolutely brilliant.

"We were missing a few and I just said to him 'why couldn't you take all of those other ones?'

"He is a great man and a proper professional, even when I don't pick him, he tries harder than anyone else to get back into the team.

"That is why having good pros is so important and I am absolutely delighted for him.

"It is what we expect now that whoever comes on will make a difference, they will not sulk, they will come on and try and make an impact and they add to the mix.

"When we are behind, we look like we might not be behind at the end and that is a great place to be."

Victory put Swindon 14th in League Two, with 51 points from 40 games played. They make the trip to Fleetwood on Saturday (3pm).
