In the statement, the club outlined that non-season ticket holders would have to buy another ticket to the re-arranged match, despite numerous messages over the tannoy on Saturday that stated fans should keep hold of their ticket stub which WOULD be eligible for the second match.
Here is how Twitter reacted:
@Official_STFC making fans who bought a ticket on the day pay again for the rearranged fixture is an absolute joke. Pathetic from the club

@Official_STFC have dropped a clanger with the Rovers replay ticket decision!!! I'd be fuming if I wasn't a ST holder!! #STFC

So I paid £25 for 60 minutes of an abandoned game? What a way to treat your fans. #stfc https://t.co/nSH8u3TPrE

Non-ST holders have to buy another ticket!? Is that a joke? #stfc https://t.co/uYy1r5tQIn

This is a massive & avoidable own goal from #STFC. I u'stand costs need to be covered but you don't punish the fans for a game cancellation.

Why were all the fans on Saturday told to keep their ticket stubs if they have to buy new tickets? #stfc https://t.co/UbzRoM38nt
