Zengota Thanks Fans, Signalling End To Robins Career

Swindon Speedway favourite Grzegors Zengota has published a heartfelt message to Robins fans, thanking them for their support and, despite voicing his wishes to stay, draws an end to his Swindon spell.

The Polish rider made his final outing for the club as part of the Abbey farewell event, back in October, and was expected by most fans to be retained for the coming 2016 campaign.

Zengota's stay with Swindon now appears to have come to an end. During the winter break, the shake-ups in the Robins camps have been continuous, with the arrival of Jason Doyle as heat leader, alongside fellow Aussies Josh Grajczonek, Justin Sedgmen and the recently resigned Nick Morris.

One Aussie who will not be in the Robins personnel next season is Troy Batchelor, who this week returned to Kings Lynn Stars. While many fans perhaps expected the departure of their now former captain Batchelor, the future of Zengota was believed to be less in doubt.

Taking to his official Facebook page, Zengota paid tribute to the Robins fan, who packed in at the Abbey to support him during the previous campaign.

'Thanks Robins Fans for last season,' writes Zengota.

'I spend nice time with you on the Abbey stadium and it was a big pleasure racing for you.'

'I hope that I gave many emotional heats to you (sic)'

Zengota then added his wishes to remain as a Swindon rider, but the possibility of this, in his view, is slim.

'I would like to stay with you but it is don't (not) possible this season (sic) I will keep fingers cross for you in the future.'

Zengota finished last season with the best rolling greensheet average for the Robins with 8.50, and came second only to Danish rider Peter Kildemand for the 2015 averages collectively.
