Swindon lost away at Bradford on Saturday, despite taking the lead in the 75th minute as they conceded two goals in the last five minutes against promotion-seeking City.
Williams again put the defeat down to a lack of experience in his ranks but this was a situation he was all-too-familar with this season as Swindon failed to win after taking the lead for the seventh time.
"It's an experience thing," Williams confirmed when asked.
"I hope they learn from it but it's no good us hoping that the players learn from it and we're all suffering and the fans are suffering and we get relegated."
Town are 22nd in League One, seven points adrift of safety with seven games of the season still to go.
"We have to learn immediately, it's too many times now," Williams sighed.
"We come here and we go 1-0 up with 15 minutes (to go). We've won the game. It's over. The game is over and there's no energy left from the other team.
"If we manage it correctly there's not enough time to make too many big changes but we just handed it over."
Williams then spoke of how he changed to five at the back, while at 0-0, to try and exploit Bradford that way, which they did, but the 35-year-old head coach rued his team "not being able to handle 15 minutes of football.
"I believed we would take the lead, which we did, and then, like I say, it's too big for some of the players to accept it.
"I don't want the season to be over, if the season's over tomorrow we're relegated - I want the season to continue until we're safe, if we could bolt on another 50 games at the end of the season if we needed to I would.
"I never, ever will quit. I want this emotion to be over, for sure but I certainly don't want this season to be over.
"I'm not looking to hide from anything, it's a blessing to be involved in this sport but it's crushing when you've felt like you've worked so hard for a victory away from home. It's difficult to accept right now."
