Three young Swindon Town talents offered professional contracts

Scott Twine, Tommy Ouldridge and Jordan Simpson have all been offered professional contracts by Swindon Town.

Twine, a striker, has been named on the bench for the senior squad on eight occasions in all competitions this season, however he is yet to make his professional debut.

The forward has impressed in the Swindon development squads though, forming an impressive strike partnership with Jordan Young, who signed a professional deal at the County Ground himself last summer as well as goalkeeper Will Henry.

Simpson, son of ex-Town player Fitzroy, will now be hoping to make a similar impact at the club to his father, who spent four years in Wiltshire and made over 100 appearances.

They, along with Ouldridge, will remain with the under 18s for the rest of the season before joining up with the first team for pre-season training later on in the year.

In a statement, the Swindon Town academy said: "Swindon Town Academy are pleased to announce that three U18s have been offered professional contracts.

"Jordan Simpson, Tommy Ouldridge & Scott Twine. All three have been through the academy Foundation & Development Phase age groups.

"Congrats to the four boys, such a long journey with us, a brilliant achievement and well done from all staff at the academy.

"We are also very proud of all the players who unfortunately weren't offered a pro deal and we wish them every success in the future."

Ouldridge posted on Twitter following the news: "Just wanna (sic) say thanks to all the boys for everything and all the best it what they do next, not the end for any of them, so much love" while Simpson quoted the tweet from the official Swindon account and added "Over the moon!"

It is believed all three have signed on for 12 months.

Other second-year scholars such as Christian Frimpong, Mason Hathaway, Jack Stanley, Will Christopher and Callum Gunnar will all leave the club.
