Old Town Gardens

The Town Gardens is a traditional Victorian style park with Gardens and home to The Old Town Bowl situated in the heart of Old Town Swindon.

The Town Gardens is a quaint Victorian park in what was once a limestone quarry and is perfect for walks and family days out in Old Town Swindon.

It has a traditional bandstand for live music, and a variety of paths to explore under canopies of trees, including a stunning pathway of Cherry Blossoms that locals and visitors rush to see each Spring. The beautiful well-maintained rose garden is a sight and scent to behold every year and the aviary with a small pond is always popular with children and has also been there since the 1800s with some maintenance in between.

The Town Gardens Cafe with outdoor seating is in the original Grade II listed kiosk, which was built for the GWR as a trade stand, that traveled the country in its heyday but has stood in the Town Gardens since 1942 and offers delicious food, snacks, and hot drinks all year round.

The art-deco-style Bowl opened in The Town Gardens in 1936, is one of only a handful built in this country, and is a lively venue for regular summer events and concerts in Swindon.

Toilet facilities are available in the rose garden including an accessible toilet with a key. Just ask at the cafe!

Street parking is limited on Quarry Road, but there are multiple carparks in Old Town within walking distance.
