Initially believed to have closed permanently on October 7, 2022, the pub is now under new management with Adam, 51, and Sonja Travers, 40, taking the helm.
Despite encountering a setback with the gas supply, delaying their opening plans since December, the Travers family, including two of their daughters, has eagerly anticipated this moment. Reopening the pub was followed by their extensive travels to Jamaica, Egypt, Singapore and more, while the gas board was being repaired, before settling into their new venture two weeks ago.
Adam Travers expressed his eagerness to hit the ground running with Cross Keys and being happy that this lovely vendor gets to come to life again while acknowledging that it is strenuous work. With over three decades of experience in pub management, Adam and Sonja saw the potential in the Cross Keys' location and architecture, motivating their decision to take on this endeavour.
The full reopening with food service is scheduled for Thursday, February 22, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Cross Keys under the Travers family's stewardship.
