Your Total Guide To family
In early February, the Haydon Wick Parish Council hosted a grand opening event for the revamped Trent Road play area, following collaborative efforts with play area specialists Wicksteed. The council enlisted the creative input of current Year 3 and Year 4 students from Greenmeadow Primary School, as well as former Year 7 students from Nova Hreod Academy, to envision their ideal play space.
The resulting design, which came with a price tag of £70,000, brought their imaginative concepts to life. It features interactive panels, a double-width slide, a basket swing, mushroom stepping stools, and more, catering to children of all abilities and ensuring an inclusive experience for everyone.
During the lively opening ceremony, local councillors and staff joined in as excited children were the first to test out the new equipment. Wicksteed provided some goodies, while the Parish Council added to the festive atmosphere with sweets and bubbles.
The council welcomes local children to visit the Trent Road Play Area and create cherished memories together, underscoring their commitment to fostering joy and community spirit.
