Coate Water Country Park is a well-loved park and open space in Swindon. Its Splash Park has been closed since mid-season last year and local residents are elated to find out it is being reopened on Wednesday 14th August.
The upcoming splash park, costing £475,000, is set to feature a paddling pool alongside various water features and games. This design has been influenced by feedback gathered from the community through a survey and focus group conducted last year.
With inclusivity in mind, the new facility aims to be fully accessible. This includes incorporating flat surfaces and a sloped entrance to the paddling pool to accommodate wheelchair users, as well as the installation of rumble strips, handrails, and interactive features positioned away from the wet areas.
Swindon Borough Council took to Facebook to reveal photos alongside the news that this anticipated Splash Park is set to reopen at Coate Water.
